We returned to Albania in the dead of night. Our plane arrived in Tirana at 12:30am local time. It took an hour to get our 13 bags plus carry ons and all the kids (wide awake I might add) through customs and into the arms of dear friends waiting at the gate! Albania has opened a new terminal at the airport since we left. Covered parking, a restaurant and all the works. Added bonus, there is a now full time job for a man who has to show everyone who comes to the airport how to push the button to get your stamped parking ticket and how to insert that ticket into the slot after you have paid your fees when you leave. The line is long as Albanians who have never seen such a thing wait to get in and out of the airport! Have you ever thought about that? How did we all learn to do that?! Who taught us to push the button at the airport to get the ticket and make the gate go up? Technology…. it is coming to Albania!
